On Wednesday 10th June 2009, at 7.15pm Pam and myself arrived at the church ready and anxiously waiting for the start of our Confirmation service. We were well supported by our families and a few members of our congregation.
The Bishop of Bedford, who confirmed us, delivered a lovely service. Afterwards Margaret Leighton and Sue Martineau served a lovely buffet at the back of the church, which was well received. Special thanks go to them for all their hard work.
For the last ten weeks myself, Jeremy Clarke, Lauren Clayton, Georgina Page, and Lauren Wardley from All Saints and Rebecca Argent, George Berry, Charlotte Fone and Katie Winter from St James, have been attending confirmation classes with Stephen.
We have been learning about the Church and the ceremonies which happen as a Christian, and we have building up to the 18th of June, the day appointed for our confirmation at St Andrew’s Church in Bedford.
At the service we were very grateful for all the family and friends that turned up. Also for the people who weren’t family who came from our churches to support us.
At the beginning of the service Bishop Christopher described our likeness to trees as we were making our own decision to be rooted down to being a Christian.
Rebecca was very brave because she was baptised as well as being confirmed and was the only one and her baptism was carried out first.
Then it was time for our confirmation, we were all very nervous! Everything went very well, and we all enjoyed ourselves. There was also a Eucharist, so we were able to take our first communion after the confirmation too.
Afterwards, we joined our families, and celebrated with a buffet, and a celebration cake which was cut by the Bishop
Thank you to the Bishop and Stephen, for his preparation and all those who worked hard to give us such an enjoyable evening.

Everyone was enjoying the food and then we (Pam and I) decided to cut the cake, which was delicious.
We both received gifts from The Bishop, Stephen & Elaine and our families. A BIG thank you to all those whose gave us gifts and have supported us throughout our confirmation classes leading up to our Confirmation service.
